“I’m talking about hundreds of billions of dollars of GPUs sitting in warehouses that aren’t being installed, with it taking six months to install a single quarter’s worth of GPU sales.”
Our reading, the sentence that was checked:
Hundreds of billions of dollars of GPUs are sitting uninstalled in warehouses, with a quarter's GPU sales taking six months to install.

Our interpretation
- The ordinary reading concerns NVIDIA AI GPUs across its customer supply chain, including equipment already sold to intermediaries or customers.
- Read 'hundreds of billions' as at least approximately US$200 billion. The speaker supplies no inventory valuation method.
- Read the installation statement as an aggregate deployment rate: installing approximately one quarter's sales requires six months. It does not mean every individual installation takes six months.
- For the ongoing observation, use NVIDIA's latest reported fiscal quarter before the post, ending January 25, 2026. This reporting-period choice is an evaluator interpretation.
- Both the inventory valuation and the deployment-rate assertion must be established to support the whole claim.
Counts as supported if: Contemporaneous, sufficiently comprehensive records establish approximately US$200 billion or more of sold NVIDIA AI GPUs physically awaiting installation, and matched shipment and deployment data establish approximately six months to install one quarter's sales.
Counts as contradicted if: Comparable records establish a substantially smaller warehoused balance or a materially different aggregate installation rate. A smaller balance at one company alone would not contradict the global claim.
Retrospective: these criteria were written after the outcome was public.

The record was checked, and the evidence available by the cutoff does not settle it.
Scored on a plain reading. The speaker named no measure for this claim, so it was judged on the reading an informed reader would take, stated below under our interpretation. Both reviews had to find that reading fair.

Rationale
The available evidence does not establish either numerical assertion. CBRE measures regional data-center absorption, not global GPU installation. Later reporting describes Amazon receiving equipment ahead of available power, but concerns another period and does not establish hundreds of billions of dollars awaiting installation. These gaps do not show that Zitron was wrong.
Limitations
- Customer-owned equipment may be absent from NVIDIA's inventory balance.
- Capacity figures require additional assumptions before they can be translated into GPU counts or values.
- The unspecified accounting basis also prevents a supported or contradicted money assessment.
Evidence (2 items)
Context only: CBRE,
Primary markets posted record net absorption of 2,497.6 MW in 2025, outpacing the previous record of 1,809.5 MW in 2024.
Why it matters here: This measures annual absorption in selected North American data-center markets. It cannot by itself establish worldwide NVIDIA GPU deployment, warehoused value or a six-month installation rate.

Context only: PC Gamer,
Reportedly, the cloud company has also accepted $3 billion worth of hardware each month since.
Why it matters here: The article relays Business Insider's reporting about Amazon receiving hardware before adequate power is available. This later, company-specific report does not establish the claimed earlier global balance or deployment rate; the underlying internal records were not publicly accessible.

What would settle it
A reconciled inventory census and shipment-to-commissioning records for the target period, with a stated valuation basis and matching product and geographic coverage.
