From the speaker
- Tesla FSD
- is getting better
- But is getting enough better? (rhetorical question, not an assertion)
Our interpretation
- Only the first sentence is a checkable assertion: that Tesla's Full Self-Driving software was improving at the time of the post. The second sentence is a question, so it is not graded.
- He named no period. I read 'is getting better' as recent progress in the months before the 2024-04-09 post, which in practice means the FSD v12 rollout from January to early April 2024.
- Plain reading: crowdsourced or reported performance data, such as miles between disengagements, or broad reports on driving quality show the newer FSD versions doing better than earlier ones.
Counts as supported if: Evidence from early 2024 shows newer FSD versions, such as v12.x, performing better than earlier versions, for example more miles between critical disengagements or clearly better reported driving.
Counts as contradicted if: Evidence from early 2024 shows FSD performance flat or getting worse compared with earlier versions.
Retrospective: these criteria were written after the outcome was public.
Current assessment
Was it true for the period described?
Outcome: Supported
The dated evidence matches what the claim committed to, under the criteria frozen before grading.
Scored on a plain reading. The speaker named no measure for this claim, so it was judged on the reading an informed reader would take, stated below under our interpretation. Both reviews had to find that reading fair.

Rationale
Marcus wrote that Tesla FSD 'is getting better' and then asked whether it was getting enough better. Under the contract, only the first sentence is graded. The second is a question. A March 18, 2024 report (e2) said Tesla had widely released FSD v12.3 in the US, using end-to-end neural nets. It said owners commonly described the car's movements as much smoother and more human-like, and said it made correct decisions it never could before. An April 2, 2024 summary of crowdsourced FSD tracker data (e1) reported 448 miles between critical disengagements for v12.3. The summary said this was over three times the best v11 result and over four times any v10 result. Both items are dated before the April 9, 2024 post, and both describe newer versions doing better than earlier ones. That meets the contract's support condition. The packet contains no counterevidence.
Limitations
- The tracker figures in e1 come from crowdsourced, self-reported data. e1 notes that data for later v12.3.x releases still needed weeks to be entered.
- e2's account of driving quality summarizes owner feedback and social media posts, not a controlled test.
- The evidence contains no official Tesla intervention or disengagement data and no independent hands-on review from the period.
- The evidence does not show whether the improvement was enough for unsupervised or robotaxi operation. The 'enough better' question is not graded.
Evidence (2 items)
Supports the claim: NextBigFuture,
They are now recording 448 Miles between critical disengagements for Tesla FSD 12.3 Supervised. This is over three times better than the best results for any Tesla FSD v11.X
Why it matters here: Crowdsourced tracker data as of early April 2024 showed v12.3 with far more miles between critical disengagements than v11 or v10, a measurable improvement just before the post.

Supports the claim: Drive Tesla Canada,
The common thread in the feedback from owners about v12.3 is that car’s movements are much smoother and feels more human-like, and that it can make correct decisions in the heat of the moment that it never could before.
Why it matters here: A contemporaneous report on the v12.3 wide release says owners widely saw better driving than in earlier versions.
